what will move through the country weatherwise. there is a storm developing. if you're in san francisco, it has been a deluge of rain. as we toward tomorrow, watch san francisco once again get hit with rain. you can see that move through. it does move out by monday. monday, the west coast is dry. here's what we're really watching. this will be our christmas week storm more or less. area of low pressure will develop here in the gulf of mexico. we'll bring in moisture from the gulf. there develops that low. this is christmas. it may not be white, but it will be wet. perhaps in little rock and new orleans and birmingham and atlanta, down here into the deep south. if we can get enough cold air down here, we may mix in a few snow flurries. we're keeping an eye on how deep that cold air gets. it looks like that low will develop. and across the country here into the midatlantic and bring some snowwednesday, thursday timeframe into the northeast again. we'll have to keep an eye on that. the focus for today, the northeast, of course, some snow showers even around new york city perhaps today. but

and 40 miles per hour. san francisco, oh, it has been a tough go for you if you're watching from the airports. we've had between three and four-hour delays and the rain and low visibility and fog and that will continue in san francisco. the hardest hit areas tomorrow and sunday. all right. for the northeast, for tomorrow, windy and much cooler, temperatures precipitously dropped 50 tonight in boston and dropping down into the 30s, and will feel much colder than that. quiet, though, in the northeast and the midwest and for sunday, the biggest stormy spot will be on sunday. it will be in of course the west coast and along the west coast. so here is a look at the weekend travel picture. here is the storm. it is exiting the country and exiting the northeast and tomorrow clear skies and cooler conditions, the winds hold on tomorrow, though, and temperatures dropping into the 30s and 40s and you're looking for snow. western great lakes actually lake effect snow. that will move down, buffalo, rochester, erie, between 6 and 12 inches of snow. that's in the northeast. to the west will be

to portland, down to medford. and believe it or not, even san francisco, finally sees a dry day tuesday. but then more rain comes in. why? what we're looking at is this area of low pressure. you're going to see, this is sunday. so for tomorrow, wet weather comes down to san francisco once again. and then on monday, into tuesday, an area of low pressure develops here in the southeast. so rain and christmas in the southeast. but, don, what we could see is this climb to the north wednesday and thursday and potentially in the northeast, bring another snowstorm. we'll have to watch that. >> thank you, alexandra. and look at this. ah. let's just look at this for a moment. waikiki. you see diamond head in the background. look at those paddle boarders. that was me less than a month ago for thanksgiving. yes, i'm jealous and i'm hating it, brianna keilar's assignment. what do you think the temperature is there, 80-some degrees? that is paradise. mean time, blizzards back here. lower 48. okay. >>> so it's cold out there. real cold. and this time of the year, the one place you definitely don't wan

to work. just watching an interesting computer model. it's been a deluge, awful travel in san francisco the last couple of days. for tomorrow, watch california, here comes a next system. so another day in san francisco and seattle with rain. by monday, the west coast clears out. but here's the little interesting nugget that could happen. on monday, watch what happens here in the gulf. moisture comes up from the gulf, an area of low pressure develops. this is the deep south. birmingham to new orleans to atlanta, could be a wet christmas. rain, not a white one. then we could see this area of low pressure develop, and it's from tuesday to thursday in the mid-atlantic and northeast, we could be looking at another storm. we'll have to keep our eyes on that model. forecast, though, for today, pretty blustery. watching us from the northeast, new york city could see a few snow showers coming down. but the winds are pretty strong. so it's pretty chilly. so some snow in western great lakes. of course, we're seeing that, the lake-effect snow guns firing off. another wet day on the west coast, rand

york, laguardia, jfk. boston as well. laguardia to newark to boston. san francisco has had four-hour delays. now 3 1/2 hours and it is weather-related there, too. ft. lauderdale is having a volume issue. this is the exiting storm, this rain that is leaving. skies are drying out but temperatures will drop precipitously. this is where the travel will really get tough. rochester, buffalo, six to 12 inches of knsnow coming for the. washington, baltimore, clears out for tomorrow and sunday. although it will still be windy. there's the heavy snow in western new york. driving i-90 through the weekend is really difficult. as we head towards sunday, this is the biggest travel headache from seattle all the way down to san francisco. northern california does some very heavy rain and wind for the next couple of days. lisa? >> sounds like everyone is going to have to really be patient as they try to get home for the holidays. >> yes. >> alexandra, thanks. it's not going to be easy but we'll see, hopefully it won't be too much of a travel headache. >> patience is important. lisa, thank you. >

inches of rain. take a look at this. the rain falls from san francisco to portland, into seattle. portland, we have pictures coming out of this region over the last 24 hours. they're looking at a kim more inches of rainfall before it's all said and done. they had a boulder fall on the highway from florence to eugene, oregon. took a couple hours. now, this tree landed on the home. we don't have the reports of injuries or damage there. then, christine, zoraida, looks like for places like chicago, they're expecting those temperatures to drop from the 60s into the 30s. now it looks like winter is going to arrive. >> in chicago she's been enjoying the weather. >> the winter in chicago lasts so long. once it comes it's there till may. >> yes. >> thanks, karen. >>> new twists in the wheres about of john mcafee. his attorney said he will seek asylum in guatemala. he went into hiding weeks ago. that followed the murder of his next door neighbor. mcafee insists he had nothing to do with that crime. police in bilis said he is not a suspect but they would like to talk to him. >>> four tv cha
